On January 22, 2001, the Gulf Coast lost a compassionate and true hero with the passing of Tommie Agee. Throughout his professional career, he came home to Mobile, Alabama , year after year, to raise money for charity organizations.
Since the passing of the World Series hero, the Tommie Agee Charitable Foundation has continued his passionate crusade and unwavering commitment to Mobile and the Central Gulf Coast community. To date, the Foundation has raised more than $1,000,000 for local non profit organizations.
The Foundation is by Walter S. Dickerson (Chairperson), who spends countless hours annually overseeing the day-to-day operations. With the help of key leaders Eddie Brown (Co-Chairperson) Bill Clark (Golf Tournament Director), Jeroy Carroll (Finance Director) the Foundation Committee and the volunteer staff, they plan and prepare fun filled activities that draw caring people across the Gulf Coast together for a good cause.
The Marquee Event is the Annual Tommie Agee Charity Golf Classic. This Annual Event is sponsored by heavyweights like Budweiser-Busch Distributing, The New York Mets, Allstate Insurance, Coca Cola Bottling, Sam's Club and Enterprise Can Rentals. A complete list of our generous Golf Classic Sponsors and Hole Sponsors may be found on the Sponsors Page. Friends of Tommie show up in force each year to once again honor his legacy.
